I agree. This is the groove, tempo and repetition that the very young can relate to. Might get sent home from pre-school for repeating the lyrics though. I laugh just thinking about that playing out. peace
Ha. Ha. My kids went nuts alright when I played this in the car last year ..... in protest AGAINST it.
They were 4 and 6 , respectively at the time. They actually like most Stones songs including Silver Train , Fool to Cry , Wild Horses , and Always Suffering ..... but not You Got Me Rocking.

Hey everyone!
I searched but couldn't really find anything on iorr so I will try to use a new topic.
I have been eager to get my son (2) heavily involved with the Stones (shirts etc) and I recently started singing "Out of Time" with him. He really likes that tune. With other songs it is difficult. What are the songs that worked with your little ones? (I remember a post with a dad who played "Rocks Off" in the car)

My young sons really got into the stones when the were about 2 or 3 years old. Their favourites include Start Me Up, Brown Sugar, Doom and Glooom. Driving and poppy, with immediate hooks seemed to catch their attention.
Now they are five, things have gotten a bit tricky when they start to ask me about the lyrical content....
For a time last year they were constantly referring to each other as Mick and Charlie!

Maybe use the US version instead of this one "Let's Spend the Night Together" ....

Seems like alot of their late 60's tunes work best: Ruby Tuesday, Dandelion, She's A Rainbow, Backstreet Girl, As Tears Go By, Sitting On A Fence, I Am Waiting, etc.

When I was 3 my brother brought home Between the Buttons and I loved almost every song - I didn't understand them, but they were great to jump around and dance to - from Let's Spend the Night Together to Something Happened to Me Yesterday.
In that era I also loved Mother's Little Helper...also not "getting it" and Jumpin Jack Flash (not hearing most of the lyrics).
I'd probably go with Ruby Tuesday and I Am Waiting for songs actually to sing, tho -- easier to sing than Dandelion, for example
