Hah, almost forgotten it... I probably saw that only once or twice at the time. More people than I thought...BB, James Brown, Ozzy, Cocker, Iggy... but the best were Robin Williams and Eric Idle!thumbs up

...Wasn't it also - rather symbolically, no doubt - voted "R'n'R Song of the 2nd Millenium" back then?

Needless to say, I bought it on the date of release ...

I was for a good cause, though.

I remember seeing this as a kid. To me it felt like a kick in the teeth. A great song butchered into a parody with every celebrity/artist putting their own spin on things. That many people on one song ends up sounding discombobulated instead of an "all star showcase". Great to do something for charity but it would have worked better with a song that relates to the cause!

I bought both versions too, but honesty I didn't realy like it and never played it again.

Yeah that was pretty strange. Overall I though some of the vocals were friggin" awesome. Too bad the music sucked so bad or this would have been a classic. peace

I feel most bad for the charity...can't have raised very much money.

I will say I was impressed with the line up of talent though.

One of those classic iorr moments -- I'm reading through the comments without looking at who
posted them, see one signed "peace" and I know that's naturalust and get to the above comment
["I feel most bad for the charity...can't have raised very much money"] and burst out laughing,
and it is, naturally, treaclefingers smiling smiley

Haha, yeah, it is fun!
Some of those artists are almost forgotten these days.

Had to be a major PItA to edit this song with all the vocal takes. eye popping smiley
