Any fans of the best band of the '80s here?

Yes, great band. Saw them first supporting Johnny Thunders and the Heartbreakers at the Music Machine in 77.

Fave albums are A Kiss In The Dreamhouse and Kaleidoscope.

Great choices.

McGeoch was an underrated guitarist, his guitar playing always give me chills. Everybody should listen to the Banshees' Kid Jensen session of 1982 once in their lifetime. He was also excellent with Magazine. The guitar solo of "Shot by both sides" is a classic.

Maybe there are some U2 fans here who never heard of John McGeoch... The Edge was influenced by McGeoch. Same with Johnny Marr.

I remember I had to do a project about "emo and goth" in school once. Probably in 8th grade or so. And they were the shining example from the 80s lol. I've never actually listened to them, but I remember there style was a prime part of my "goth brochure" lol.

Well actually we can't call SATB a "goth" band. Gothic rock came later. Indeed the Banshees were an influence for goth bands but they were post-punk. spinning smiley sticking its tongue out
