Okay, what about:

The Only Ones (in fact everything Perrett),
The New York Dolls (in fact everything especially Thunders),
The Stooges (and almost everything Iggy)...

... and after that it is indeed getting tougher.

I don't have that many favourites, as it seems.

I can, however, say I like for instance Stiv Bators (mostly solo and with The Lords), Lou Reed, Syd Barrett, Dogs D'Amour -- a healthy bunch, all of these mentioned -- and, most of all, Strindbergs from Sweden.

I have some pretentious sides myself like Manfred Manns Earth Band and Genesis,, but it's been a time ago...

Sigh,can't you people follow directions? I said FIVE.Not 6,7,10,15.I made no distinction between solo or bands...However,second top 5's are allowed.

That's intressting cause the people I have been argued most with about what band is best bla bla bla is just fans of Led Zeppelin and The Doors...no problem for you to have even these two bands as favorites beside The Holy Rolling Stones? smiling smiley

No problem for me Come On. I'm a much bigger Stones fan than Zeppelin. Though I would say they're better technically, they don't move me like The Stones. Suppose I could say the same for the others as well. Actually I consider Jimi Hendrix the greatest musician ever, but still prefer The Stones. LOL.
