It was not a hit in the U.S. either, peaking at #84, but the Buoys DID have a Top 20 hit in the states. Perhaps you remember a song called "Timothy"? It was written by Rupert "The Pina Colada Song" Holmes. It's about cannibalism. Holmes wrote it in the hope that the controversy would get the song banned, thus generating publicity for the Buoys.

I must have blacked out just 'round then
'Cause the very next thing I could see
Was the light of the day again
My stomach was full as it could be
And nobody ever got around to finding Timothy

1972 5th place

It certainly seems long. Probably because it's so bleedin' awful.

"I'm an urban spaceman" and "they're coming to take me away (ha ha)"??

Or perhaps that's the result of too much thought? Lol!

My brain hurts.....

I've never in my life heard anyone try to describe a song they were looking for and list the instruments in it and the mood rather than remember ANY lyrics. Maybe a chorus, a refrain, how it starts, something.

Weird.

Weird.

He clearly has a good ear and memory for music, just didn't take in the lyrics too well. He did mention a brief bit of the lyrics a few pages back.

His descriptions and clips got us there in the end. thumbs up
