Nothing against the new vocalist, it's just difficult to replace such a unique voice no matter how good you are.
I totally agree. faces can't go on tour as faces without rod stewart.
nothing against the rest of the band including mick hucknall, great musicians and
strong personalities.....but rod is the lead vocal, that's it .
steve tyler, mick jagger, robert plant, roger daltrey, their trademark is too strong ....i mean, i have never been interested to go to see the queen after mercury has died

Yeah, a Rodless Faces just doesn't grab the attention of the masses. Doesn't surprise me at all. Ronnie should just tour solo.

Why the hell do we need to send the tickets back? They advised me to do so by registered mail...

Does Mick Hucknall mean anything in America? Did Simply Red have hits there?

my guess is the tour was cancelled because of low ticket sales. or maybe an illness? who knows. i highly doubt it was cancelled because mick or keith or charlie decided to get off their ass and do some stones work. cancelling a tour is a big deal. it makes promoters look bad, there's reputations at stake, money lost, etc...

I bet also on poor ticket sales. The price range was from 55,- € up to 100,- €, depending on the venue.
A lot money for a band which is out of the touring business for 35 years.

... and which is missing its most identifiable member.

Costs... for me ...registred mail from Switzerland to Germany. And we have to send them back within 7 days ... I bought 3 Tickets. One of my friends is on a holiday and comes back after 7 days. One friend lives abroad and has to send me the ticket... not possible at all. And mail from Switzerland to Germany takes 2-3 days if I choose the more expensive way.. Otherwise about 5 days...
Arrrrrrghhhhh
And the hotel is also already paid (usually I pick the more expensive flexible rate.. but this timme...).. arrrrghhhhhh
And the sadest thing is that I don't see many Stonesfan Friends

only other option for US getting a good double bill such as j geils band for 10 shows at 4000 seaters.. thats the maximum
That could work, but would they be willing to suffer the indignity of being the opening act? They WOULD have to be the opening act for anyone they would be paired with who would be a big enough attraction to play large venues.

i look at it with geils as one night one headlines the other night the other.. something like that
the fact of the matter is that even geils can't find a promoter who wants to pay them outside of a show at a casino, detroit or boston..
its a very uphill battle for faces without rod stewart.. and this is why even though i hate rod stewart i can understand him saying he wants a huge cut...
other than that they'd need a different lead singer... hucknall may work for them but he's not a draw for anyone who likes faces.... they needed more of a rocker.. simply red is too adult contemporary .

In an interview the other day Rod suggested Kelly Jones, but he would most probably be too expensive. I'd like to see Spike from the Quireboys.
