It had been a while since I listen to the Stray Cats but playing their music today made think about Brian Setzer. He is an AMAZING guitar player with style and soul, he has a great voice, he is a great songwriter and he loves rock and roll. Brian like Robert Johnson, Eddie Cockran, Chuck Berry, Jimi Hendrix and a very few others are/were super gifted musicians. I saw the Stray cats in 1981 in Orleans France and Brian did lots of crazy moves on stage while playing and he didn't miss a beat or @#$%& up a note.In 1981 the Stones check out the Stray Cats who at that time had moved to London to record with Dave Edmunds, at the Marquee club. Then Ron and Keith became friends with Brian Setzer.
Rock and Roll,
Mops

I'm a big fan.

Wasn't looking too good, but I was feeling real well.

I saw him once in Paradiso (A'dam) with the '59 Comeback Special (BS + rhythm section of the BSO).
Great show. I stood front row and BS actualy dropped some sweat on me.
Never washed my face since that...... ;-)

SETZER: "For me to discover him [Eddie Cochran] and Gene Vincent when it was like [effects pompous accent] Emerson Lake and Palmer—it was the dark ages—and Eddie Cochran was a ray of sunshine."

The last time I saw Brian Setzer was about 10 to 12 years ago.

It was in a gas station in Malibu on PCH. He was driving this vintage roadster and had his daughter in the car with him, (at least I assume it was his daughter). We had a pleasant conversation about his car then we were on our way.
