My absolute favorite YouTube comment was attached to a promo video from 1969 or thereabouts of our boys performing Gimme Shelter. The comment said something like "I don't get it. How did they ever get to be so famous? They are just your typical bar band." I suppose the commenter (if they were serious) was too young to realize that the Stones were the prototype for every bar band/garage band ever.

I have never seen this, quite amazing. I find there is a funny kind of subdued feeling in the clip. But OMG the Stones live in 1965, like a high school dance band! (almost)

Of course they sound like that. They places they played in, and the primitive sound systems weren't designed for music fidelity.
