After Tattoo You I would say that the best Stones songs are from Keith.

Sleep Tonight
Slipping Away
Thru and Thru
Infamy
This place is empty

If only we knew what comes from Keith and whta comes from Mick!

A track like TITNight with its slow majestic beat had Richards written all over it but it's in fact 50% Mick.

How Can I Stop (probably the best song in their catalogue after 81)

I'd say Undercover Of The Night, Too Tough, Continental Drift, Blinded By Love, Thief in The Nigh, Out of Control, Saint of Me, Back Of My Hand, Dangerous Beauty, She Saw Me Coming, This Place Is Empty...oh man they're a lot, and they're not all Keith.

Yes. I agree. There is more quality post-'81 than many people think.

Some are Richards lead vocal tracks , some are Jagger lead vocal tracks.

These modern Richards lead vocal songs also stand up well to material from earlier than 1981. It's hard to compete with the "Golden Era" of '68 - '72 but, these songs compare very favorably to songs from any other era besides maybe '68-'72 era songs.

Never got behind Throu and throu. To me the weakest they've ever released.

I've always wondered if Chuck has ever suggested it in rehearsals.

I think he's smart enough to realize they'd just see it as a cheap attempt by him to get some performance royalty cheques rolling his way.

No, I think he's satisfied with the Starbucks card loaded with $100 he gets at the start of each tour.

9. You Got Me Rocking
10. Out of Control
11.Saint of Me
12.Don't Stop
13.Rain Fall Down

good best of choices from 1983 onward but what about...

baby, break it down
blinded by rainbows (great woody solo)
gunface
lowdown
hold onto your hat (very rip this jointy)
feel on baby (like too much blood, much better on the 12 inch release)

oops, forgot i go wild, loved the live version on the voodoo tour

I wouldn't say that exactly. Mick has written all the big hits and it's his songs that are featured whenever the first lead single is released ahead of an album, going all the way up to GRRR! Keith on the other hand has written some choice album cuts. The two have combined to keep the newer albums interesting and, on the whole, balanced in terms of quality.

However, I will say that Keith has released the best solo albums by a Rolling Stone in that time frame. smiling smiley

Wasn't "mixed Emotions" the last legitimate hit? Keith's track.

You're talking about exceptions, whereas I was merely pointing out the general rule.
