I heard more about the Boogie 4 Stu sessions yesterday as Ben Waters was discussing it at the bar with a friend of his.
The basic tracks were cut in two days, with Charlie and Dave Green. Ronnie's overdubs were already planned and happened a bit later. Only then Mick, Keith and Bill were asked if they wanted to be involved and they all overdubbed their parts separately.

Were you at a table with Ben Waters, or were you 'nearby' and casually 'listening in' on the conversation? Either way, good on ya!

Well the New Morning is a small place and most people leave the rest of the band alone... So before the second show Ben Waters was having a beer at the venue's bar with his friend and I was nearby, waiting to say hi. But the story was interesting so I didn't dare interrupt.

I was listening to this for the first time in a while. I don't think I realized it before, but both Keith & Ronnie are on vocals, separately ... this makes it the first ever Keith & Ronnie duet on vocals!

Ben Waters recorded two boogie style tracks
for Stones but they were not included on Hackney

I want to make it very clear before I get to the substance of this posting, that I am a big fan of Ben Waters. Personally I've had the view for many years that The Rolling Stones should part company with The Chuckster, and have Ben in as his replacement. The spirit of Stu lives on in Ben Waters. (And, yes, I know why).
But in some idle browsing at [benwaters.com] I spotted thismost recently he was involved in the making of the Stones’ Hackney Diamonds album.
Really? I've just got out my magnifying glass and gone through the sleeve notes I have, and can't find his name anywhere.
Was he really involved with Hackney Diamonds? Where is this credited?

The launch at the Half Moon Putney is on Tuesday, the 27th of May and My band and I would love you to be there
