I don't mind the Stones paying tributes to some of their blues heroes by covering some of their songs live. But at this stage of their career, the Stones won't be with us forever, and I wish they would give themselves some blues credit and play some of their own blues songs live. Songs like:

Fancy Man Blues
Keep Up Blues
Hide Your Love
and so on...

I love the Stones playing any type of blues but I wish they would do more of their own!

spider and the fly as per stripped would be fab

....Who's Drivin' Your Plane would be ace-cool ....

I also would like to hear more blues Stones material, like Spider and the Fly. They also should play Parachute Woman. Ventilator Blues will probably stay a dream, if they have trouble with this, as Charlie mentioned somewhere.

I hadn't really thought of Spider and the Fly as blues until now. In fact--no, I still don't. But I love it, so what the hell!

It's a traditional 12 bar blues, but somewhat "countrified"

Mick always describes it as blues ( but says he doesn't really like it ) but I LOVE the stripped video from the 19990s and I wish they'd rehearse if or play it in a club. Great lyrics too.

I can't see them doing many of their blues numbers on tour, it's just not what audiences have come to expect from them, but who knows?

It would be cool if they put out a blues compilation album, and included some of the outtakes like Fancy Man Blues and Cook Cook.

When you think about it, Emotional Rescue was a pretty alright album.

Tell you what was also an alright album and has good blues (and countrified) stuff, Some Girls II. I seem to play it more than Some Girls I.
