Anybody Take The A Train?

The intro to this will certainly sound familiar to some of us. What is some other old school jazz that fellow Stones fans like?

...They used a (great!!) Cannonball Aderly track when crossing the bridge to the B-stage, I remember.
Don't remember which track nor tour, unfortunately...

People who remember the opening to "Love You Live" should recognize this. My former bass teacher wrote this arrangement while he was playing with Woody Herman. 1st time I heard it was when the Woody Herman Orchestra came to my college for a show. My friends and I were surprised when we heard the intro and about fell out of the balcony in awe when the funk came in.

Hope y'all enjoy!

Peace,
Mr DJA

One of the things that made me turn into jazz was the "Take the 'A' Train" intro on Still Life. I guess I'll have to thank Charlie for including this on the concert openings. smiling smiley

On back cover of The Bridges to Babylon DVD it lists Take the A Train as the song for the walk to the B Stage. Weird that they left that mistake there.

Joe Morello's drum solo at 2:50 should be a must listen for any drummer. He's playing 3, maybe 4, different time signatures at one time. It just floors me. Awesome stick work!
