I love ELO!
Jeff Lynne also produced George Harrison's last album Brainwashed.

Remember how cool "Living Thing" sounded the first time you heard it?
It didn't sound like anything else at the time. I love all their early stuff.
Telephone Line reminds me of Lennon, and they had those great melodies.

I was a fan of Eldorado when it first came out, but lost interest when the next album came out.
I don't understand the appeal of Jeff Lynne's production. He strips the humanity out of nearly everything he touches. His records sound too mechanical for my liking, compressed to death.
Then again, I'm having some trouble with T-Bone Burnett as the roots producer de jour. He insists on using an upright bass all the time, but he can't record the damn thing. The bottom end on his records is a rumble of undistinguishable low notes.
