Any gigs that are in an old smokey club..especially the dark and crowded noisy ones that have a good vibe.Just like that Canadian club The Stones played "Streets of Love" in.smoking smiley

The 1st Paradiso 1995. They played really great that night. None of the other club-shows come close...

...Stoneswise, the one I was happy to attend: Vredeburg, Utrecht - 2003. Wonderful...
...Stoneswise, from the ones I have on bootleg: Paradiso, Amsterdam - 1995. Definitely...
...Stoneswise, the one that was (partly) officialy released: El Moccambo, Toronto - 1976. Naturally...

Other-then-Stoneswise: I pretty much 'second' Colonial's view. Sticky floors and smokey rooms...

i think there's some confusion between club shows and theater shows. i've seen them thrice in theaters and would rank them thusly:

1) Orpheum, Boston - i can still feel the electricity in the air. the excitement of seriously not knowing what was coming next was palpable.

2) Wiltern, LA - probably a better performance and my vantage was improved over the above show, but the excitement level wasn't quite at the same level

3) Beacon #1 - fun show, but a couple of notches down from the licks theater shows....keith's chops had eroded dramatically in a short few years...

Allthough I didn't attend them, I find the 4 club shows of 1995 to be the best ones, especially Brixton.
After that....Wiltern 2002 was good
The obvious very best one seem to be El Mocambo 1977 though; wish we had more material circulating of those shows....especially the 2nd one

I'm with Stonees Todd: these are mainly theatres that are being mentioned here. Brixton Acadamy holds around 4,000 people!

the stones themselves contributed to the confusion by saying that on the licks tour they would play club shows...they never did.

Loved the paradiso ones, but I I like Olympia 2003 also, since I was there. Better show then Utrecht or Astoria

Shepherds Bush Empire 1999. Stood 15 feet in front of Keith. But Brixton was pretty amazing too.

What is the sound quality of Roseland like, clear sound? I like the setlist,
always wanted to have it. Its something about small venues that attracts me.

It would have to be Palais Royale, if only for the more adventurous setlist.
