There's not one song you don't like?

That's right. There are of course songs that I like more than others. And there are songs that I really love. But that also changes with the mood I am in. Therefore I can never point out which is my favorite song. I can remember that I had some problems with Streets of Love in the beginning, but that changed right after I heard it live.

'Anyone Seen My Baby?' has always been one of my least favorite Stones tunes - but earlier today I watched the much-aligned video clip of them playing it live over in the "Stones' Worst Moments on Stage" thread, and I actually enjoyed it. I could get a sense more of what they were going for with the song in the live version, and the middle 8 rap section didn't seem so incongruous.

I'll admit I'm just fascinated by the Stones sound, and the subtle magic they are capable of even when they are trying something new and not succeeding 100%.

However I also agree with StonesTod and others, that no matter how great the band or musician, not everything they do is going to be a winner. Everyone's tastes are different, and it really all comes down to your own personal taste.

No. They've made a lot of utter crap. Utter crap is still crap.

Some folks need to expand their horizons.

Stones can do miracles with shitty songs, but I have heard better versions of 'Under The Boardwalk' and Suzie Q'...

Simple statement, but oh so true.

the prime stones time for me is
1963-1976, 1978, 1981 and then it stops.
ive been a fan since 1973, seen them live 27 times.
but mainly the seventies have been their prime.
i wish i could see them one more time.
wherever, in europe at least.
they gave me good times, good music and good memories.
i think this is the end.
sorry. maybe, a few shows in London and new york (2012), but thats it,
thanks guys, for all the good times and great music.
One Love
jeroen

In a word....No
At least not to me.
It seems to me to even suggest that anything the Stones do
would be better than something good from another band
goes to the heart of where the word fan comes from ...
Fanatic.

Sorry
Marv

Exactly. Well Said.

It is definitely not "fanatic" to say a song from the Stones which is below average by their high standards is better than one of the best songs by another group.

For example,I will take " Hey Negrita " (among others) by the Stones over " Somebody to Love " by Queen all day.

I hear piss poor songs on the radio all of the time which are worse than songs by the Stones considered by many to be among their worst. What about that " I'm a Fool To Do Your Dirty Work " song they play on the radio ?? I'll take the Stones' " Dirty Work " track with the superb guitar break weave over that song, too, even though it is not among the best songs,as a whole, that the Stones have to offer.

I agree that there is a limit. Throw out the 15 or 20 worst Stones songs and they don't have much to be ashamed of. 15 or 20 songs may sound like alot but,it's not for the Stones percentage - wise. We're here talking about the Stones 48+ years on for a reason. Give them their due. Sorry.

no - not in this case. to like a given song just because of who performs it goes beyond personal musical taste. there's nothing wrong with having biases; we all have them.
