Why do you suppose Universal had these 2011 remasters made after just issuing new remasters in 2009? Do you think they were trying to correct their mistakes? To my ears I am really enjoying the ones released so far.

They were made for Japan market only and for release on SACD. Only this year they were released on CD, but again only in Japan. I guess there's still an important audiophile market in Japan...

Yes they are flat transfers and sound even better than the 1994 Virgins.
