My first and probably only Stones show, as I don't think I could afford to do it again. Glad I finally got to see them grinning smiley

With the money you spent on custom framing, you probably could have afforded to see them again.

Ticket - £95
Hotel - £200
Train - £150
Food/Drink - £50

£495

Excluding the materials I already owned, this cost me about £50. As a student, I can't afford to go to as many shows as you can. So forgive me if I want to make this one a bit more memorable.

That's not bad. I managed an art gallery for a while so I know how expensive framing can be. I've got a beautiful Elton John Tumbleweed Connection record store poster that would look great in an old wooden western-motif style frame, but since I no longer have my employee discount there's no way I can afford to do anything with it. Anyway, you saw one more show on this tour than I did. I did seriously consider making the drive to Chicago, but my car needed new tires, and there went my ticket money ....

Got curious about my Elton John poster and I see someone is selling one on ebay for $250.00. I think I only paid $100 for mine. Hmmm ....

I spent ages getting the girl at the merch booth to get me this white version of the shirt, she kept saying there were only black ones, and the line was so long I didn't dare keep pushing the point and say I'd seen the white ones posted on IORR! So I got a black one, and hope to be able to get a white one online sometime.

Anyway, yours looks terrific framed. smiling smiley

Very nice, just missing a picture of you in the angle of T3/Stage/Catwalk (was in the same spot at HP2) ! And at least that's one ticket you won't lose! I keep all of mine but...er...have lost track of most of them in various moves ;-) Not that I really had to (helped "justifying" going back to HP2...) but I saved on the hotel costs by "sleeping" at St Pancras for the first show and then at Heathrow for the second one...possibly a useful tip if they play in London again ;-)

Hats off to you, Bastion! The red outlines make the whole thing look very distinctive and the addition of the ticket is the perfect touch. Very nice indeed.

But don't abandon hope of seeing them again! Maybe you could try some couchsurfing next time to reduce the outlay.

18? Not too late at all... think this way: there will be the time when you will have all these stories to tell of this funny rock and roll band and of their crazy fans, when most of us are gone...
