i´ve got the I Think im going Mad, in the stones tongue like form.
wonder how much its worth

same as with the Miss you 12 inch, in pink

and
Cockcocker blues single.

The Black Box in Vnyl....

Voodoo stew and Brew on cd...

and lots more.

I guess my nephew will be a rich man when they put me down in the hole

jeroen

I've got all that stuff too....vinyl is a completely different animal.

I've got the Miss You in red vinyl as well. Do you have the brown sugar with sticky fingers cover in vinyl (re-issue from 1983 along with the She Was Hot you're referencing).

I'm going to have to drag out the RARE Stones Vinyl thread and post a few of those. They're not ULTRA rare, but rare enough!

LiveAtHydePark - 2 questions:
Did you buy the Out Of Tears new like that?
If not, did the rot occur before or after the cracks?

@LiveAtHydePark - Is it these areas circled in red ?

Mine is staying sealed until someone pries it out of my cold hands so I guess no one will be finding out anytime soon if it has that problem...hopefully ;-)

PS - on s'est vus au Trabendo ou ailleurs ? Si oui tu peux m'envoyer un message sur mon mail ;-)

No that is what a full size CD looks like with only 5 tracks on it. It's just blank space.

When I bought it in 1994, I didn't knew the problem. A few years ago, i read a topic about this problem here on IORR, so I watched back to my CD and saw the CD rot. So I can't tell you exactly when it appeared.

The crack is I think very recent. Everytime I receive a new record, I listen to it one time, check the versions, and report the matrix numbers in my datafile. And when I did that, 1994 or 1995, everything was alright.

So until today I never saw these two cracks. they seem to in the plastic, not the aluminum. This release was 100 % rotten.

I would say that prices for singles are bizzar sometime. Recently I got JUMPIN JACK FLASH (Gasmask) COL 657597-2 for 7 Euro. This makes me wonder if it even worth the price I payed. The othe time I saw regular LOVE IS STRONG VSCDT1503 on a record fair for 25 Euro. And this makes me wonder if the guy was mental to set such a price.

la pourriturest présente sur tout le disque, elle se voit moins sur la partie brillante. vraiment un pressage de merde.

le trabendo ? croisé sans se voir, peut-être ? je n'ai pas eu le temps de finasser ce jour là. aller-retour.

Yes, this one.

Matrix 01-657 597-14 11 A1 DADC AUSTRIA

Guess usual ebay price should be around $40. That is why I do not understand how people set prices on record fairs.

yeah, are the cracks the 'rot'?

No but they may allow air/moisture in there to further the rot.

OK, that makes sense, but what exactly is the rot itself? Some kind of fungus? I haven't seen it before, and no one has actually described what it is, other than showing a CD with cracks.

Apparently, the cracks are not the rot. To close this line of questioning, we need the rot!

Rotten luck no one has the answer!

Damn!

In Canada we call that dried mayonnaise.

Never put on a new CD while you're having an egg salad sandwich for lunch.

Among the most interesting Stones rare CD singles there are those 3" CD singles from the beginning of the 90's, such as Highwire, Terrifying, Sad Sad Sad...
I'm not 100% about this, but I think most of them were from Holland and Japan.

Yes, the Sad Sad Sad with the "Main Vocal" from the Too Much Blood 12inch should end up becoming the rarest of them. The promo CD of SSS does not have TMB yet it's goes for more.

I think I have that Terrifying CD somewhere, I'd gotten it for "Wish I'd Never Met You" of course. What's the connection between SSS and TMB ?

Here is an overview of the 3 inch CDs issued in Europe and Japan:
Stones 3 inch CDs

All of them are relatively rare nowadays but really really rare are only:
- Rock And A Hard Place 655422 1 (2 tracks)
- Angie 656068 1 (2 tracks)
- Ruby Tuesday 656892 1 (2 tracks)
- Paint It Black 657311 1 (2 tracks)

RT and PIB were only available in France as far as I know.

Side 1 of the Too Much Blood 12inch has an extended mix that has 2 parts. The first "Main Vocal" part of it is on the 3inch CD of Sad Sad Sad.

Whatever that is, it doesn't look like what collectors normally refer to as "CD rot" to me. A truly "rotten" CD usually takes on a bronze tone on both sides of the disc with time due to some kind of chemical deterioration going on, and eventually renders it unplayable. Here's an example (sorry for the OT pic):

Is the U.S. 4-track "Out Of Control" promo CD (Virgin DPRO 13159) containing the 6:54 "Don Was Live Remix" worth anything? Apparently, this is in fact a live recording from the band’s January 1998 three-night stand at Madison Square Garden mixed down to the point of sounding like a studio track, with all audience noise removed. I believe this promo was the only worldwide release to feature that particular version.

Hi as far as I remember the cd rot was traced to a French pressing facility MPO in the 80s or 90s.Some chemical @#$%& up .cds turned a Russet colour.Quiet a number of record companies were hit.I have a copy of Max Romeos "War ina Babylon"on Island and a cheapo Stan Getz French label that are infected.
