Thanks forthe post. I was one of the 20 million who applied for tix and not got lucky.

Had the chance of seeing them once in 75 and once on 77.

I was lucky enough to have seen one of the Earls Court shows.Ally Pally was another one and also Empire Pool Wembley.Don't ask me which years 'cos all I know it was in the'70's.All 3 of them were terrific.Brother in law bought a poster at one of the Earls Court shows which he has framed and now worth big bucks. If I remember it's got a picture of an old steam train and the layout of Zeps gigs in timetable form.Happy days. >grinning smiley<

They played the Empire Pool (Wembley Arena) on 20 & 21 November 1971
Alexandra Palace was 22 & 23 December 1972

That's amazing Gazza.I knew it was the '70's but I would have put a fiver on that Wembley was a year or two before or after the '75 Earls Court gigs.I just checked on the Led Zepp site timeline and sure enough,it had to be '71.Ally Pally sounds about right 'cos I rememember it was cold inside sitting on the floor before the music started. The Toby Jug at Tolworth was a pub I used now and again as a teenager for live music.Surprisingly they played there in '69,even after a tour of the states.Just a pub on a roundabout with a big room for live gigs.Knocked down now just a few years ago. confused smiley

I managed to make it there with a LOT luck and some frequent flier miles. I was in London for less than 24 hours; still remember those crazy lines to pick up tickets, the sushi place at the O2, seeing Kate Moss, threatening to kill a photographer who set up right in my line of sight . . . . . great night.

I was there too. No luck in the lottery, but a lot of determination, plus mileage points to cover the airfare and hotel. A fantastic weekend and a wonderful concert.
Over at www.ledzeppelin.com, the persistent rumors of an official DVD release seem to be gaining some credibility.

"They played the Empire Pool (Wembley Arena) on 20 & 21 November 1971
Alexandra Palace was 22 & 23 December 1972"

And those were more satisfying than the bloated EC residency of 1975... (tapes don't lie).

I don't know if you were there in'75 dcba, but believe me,tapes do lie.It all depends on where you're sitting and the quality of your recording gear. From where myself and a group of 6-8 friends who were all Zep fans were seated,it was a great gig on the night we were there.I remember buzzin' from it for days after. >grinning smiley<

With the average concentration span of a concert-goer down to about three-and-a-half minutes, the Zep remain as probably the only band in the world still able to get away with long, meandering, drawn-out renditions of songs that are as pointless today as they were on the day of their release.
