Not sure where that Phoenix came from...a phoenix rising ? Surely it's not something that they commissioned specifically for Glastonbury? A recycled prop ?

As in "was it animated"? Yes!

Made by the same people who constructed all those amazing steampunk contraptions for the closing ceremony of the Paralympics - they are made of recycled materials and there were other things they made at Glastonbury like a huge "spider" that also spouted flame- I heard an interview about them somewhere on BBC radio. I think they said the phoenix is going to be a permanent part of the Pyramid Stage now.

That's it - some impressive footage of it in action at night on the BBC with smoke and flames and trapeze artists dangling from it - did you see any of that, bv?
