What would be the most hardest thing about been a member of the most famous Band in the world The Rolling Stones?..I think it would probably have to be all the Rumours and Speculation that gets around the world on their private lives..and also their Band as well and the intrusion from the worldwide media. They must be pretty hard to put up with at times.

Nowadays and that late in their career probably nothing really. I would think that in the 60's when the cops were after Brian, Keith and Mick it must have been hard to be identified as a member of The Rolling Stones because there was a real threat attached to it.

a. not being able to leave the band and start a successful solo career
b. not being able to leave the band and retire
c. not being able to bury the band and leave the past behind
d. (for Mick): not being able to get rid off Keith
d. (for Keith): not being able to get rid off Mick

Living down the memory of being royally fvcked by Allen Klein.

Mick said that he still wakes up at 3 am and writhes in humiliation over this.

Really? Cant say I've ever heard him say anything publicly to suggest it gets to him that much.

I find it hard to believe that a man who's worth a couple of hundred million quid would lose sleep over being screwed over a tiny fraction of that 40-45 years ago.

Keith seems less fazed about it, by comparision - 'the price of an education' as he called it.

When you look back at how young they were when they started, I'd say the hardest thing about being a Rolling Stone has been growing up in public.

"I'm a rolling stone, all alone and lost,
For a life of sin, I have paid the cost.
When I pass by, all the people say
"Just another guy on the lost highway."

Just a deck of cards and a jug of wine
And a woman's lies make a life like mine.
Oh, the day we met, I went astray,
I started rollin' down that lost highway.

I was just a lad, nearly twenty-two,
Neither good nor bad, just a kid like you,
And now I'm lost, too late to pray,
Lord, I've paid the cost on the lost highway.

Now, boys, don't start your ramblin' round,
On this road of sin or you're sorrow bound.
Take my advice or you'll curse the day
You started rollin' down that lost highway."

Hank Williams Sr. - "The Lost Highway"

Just about everything you ever said or did being on record forever, never being allowed to forget about it or live it down, and being expected to be able to answer silly questions about any of it, accurately, at any time.

I have seen this quote online, yes. It's not the lost money; it's the loss of the ownership of their best work, to a conman, which could have been avoided if they had been more astute. That is what rankles Mick.
