Andersen really has an inside track. What baloney.

Andersen quotes an anonymous Royal courtier ...
Charles is also said to have told the Queen’s chief usher ...
The Prince of Wales is said to have been suspicious of Jagger ...

Great journalism, yeah.

Did she knight Paul McCartney? He has more drug convictions than Mick!

I think the real issue was Mick's close r'ship with her sister Princess Margaret. From the queen's point of view, Mick would indeed have been a very bad influence.

And the fact that he has been a tax exile for over 40 years plus has contributed relatively little to charity would also be significant.

Does that mean that the others, who were also knighted on that day by Prince Charels, were also refused by the queen? What did they do wrong?

Reading this article reminds me of a something I heard a long time ago about Brian's death and princess margaret.

According to what i was told or heard was that princess margaret was at brian's house in the couple of weeks before he drowned, therfore it was easier to make it a case of accidental drowning than a murder case which would have brought this to light and caused a national scandal.

certainly from reading the thread on iorr about brian's death they seemed very happy to make it accidental drowning........

it was maybe just one of those rumours but she certainly liked that type of lifestyle.

I knew the book was crap when I picked it up and right away he "reported" a coversation (with quotes) between Keith and Charlie when I know he never interviewed either Keith or Charlie. So how did he get the quotes? What a hack job. (The very first paragraph of the thing attributes a statement to Lizzie that was made by Georgia.)

For more of this crap, last night and tonight on 'Inside Edition' (CBS, 7pm EDT) they are going through the highlights of the book. Last night we had Carla Bruni,Madonna, and David Bowie. Tonight I think we get the "Royal scoop".spinning smiley sticking its tongue out

I knew this guy hadn't done his homework when I looked at the first page in the photo section and saw that the childhood pic captioned as Mick was actually Charlie Watts.

Somewhat ironically, the Queen has no input into who gets on the yearly Queen's Honours list, which determines who will be receiving knighthoods, OBEs and so on, so she knights them whether she likes them or even knows who they are.

"Modern" pop music might not be her thing. A friend read that during the recent QUEEN'S 60 YEAR DIAMOND JUBILEE concert, the Queen wore earplugs through all the acts from Kylie Minogue to Tom Jones, etc. They weren't her cup of tea. Maybe if Matt Monroe were still alive....

Maybe for the Queen Mick would have worn more formal shoes.

What absolute @#$%& drivel. Mick actually postponed the ceremony about four or five times as he was on tour and the dates offered didnt suit him.

This really is shaping up to be the worst Stones bio ever published.

Any institution that gets hung up about shoes isn't worth anything.

The Queen is Head of one of the biggest Christian denominations in the world.

What did Jesus say about fancy clothes????

Prince Rupert in his new book relates talking to "a Herald at the College of Arms" about Mick getting "his knightly coat of arms" after his knighthood. Rupert suggested the coat of arms include a guitar and a cricket bat. He added that Mick wouldn't want to be seen at the College of Arms because it wouldn't be very rock 'n' roll. But Rupert isn't clear whether Mick got a coat of arms. Did Mick get a coat of arms?
