Love this track, mostly because of Nicky's piano and Brian's mellotron parts.

A pure Beatles meets Stones songs. An inspired piece of London psychedelia. Their shout out of support and friendship between the two camps. IT would had been interesting being a kid back then and hearing it on the radio the first time...

I love this track too, sorry they didn't put it on "Santanic" together with "Dandelion" and "Child of the Moon" (Wasn't "Child" recorded beforehand ?)
That would had made "Satanic" a really great album !

No! The bootleg out takes and the official released version all date from spring 1968.

Agreed!

Would have made it a better album than Between the Buttons...and Sgt. Pepper! (maybe, depends on if they cut Gomper and 'see what happens'.)

There's this bunch of 'non album' tracks that are so fantastically good. We Love You, Dandelion, Sad Day, Sitting on a Fence, Who's Driving You Plane, Child of The Moon, If You Let Me...Put them on one album and it would have been a classic.

Funny - this one is practically my least favorite ever, one of the few I skip when it comes up.

i'll be honest, this song has never quite done it for me. i love songs that sounds somewhat similiar like dandelion, who's driving your plane and the satanic majesties stuff... but this one for some reason never struck. there isn't much to the melody and it just feels thrown together to me.

Two widely varying examples of how this composition might be approached in performance -- I wish the Stones had attempted it at Budokan!:
