only 12 dates in europe after 20 years?
no spain and no eastern europe.. there must be a reason, i think petty's promoters are afraid not many people will attend the gigs. it seems a low- risk schedule. times have changed.
Already booked for 3 opening acts thereQuote

It is a long hot summer, I would be willing to bet once Tom gets over there he will stay a while.
The only thing I dont like about Tom Petty live is he is kind of militant about people taking vidoe and pictures.... and although it may have changed since I last looked, he is also not very forgiving of having his stuff posted on youtube. Unlike our beloved Stones (who allow their songs to be posted every which way people want) Petty's songs are harder to find on youtube... or at least they were last time I tried.

Well if Europe doesn't want to see Tom send him to Australia as he hasn't been here since 1986 as Bob Dylan's band.

To digress: lesbian comedian Margaret Cho recently listed the "top five bands lesbians love" and Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers came out on top.
MARGARET CHO: "1. Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. The ultimate macho band that lesbians love—and my favorite—are Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. It comes down to the song "Here Comes My Girl" because it's the ultimate lesbian love song. I've always found a way to dedicate this song on the radio to every girl I have been with or sung it to her. All Tom Petty songs are great, but this song is just the thing that goes through my mind when I see a woman I love. It's the song I'm going to sing and feel, and then cry to when it's over."
