OT - 2013 Grammy Awards
Posted by: Munichhilton ()

Watching for the first time in a long time tonight.

Have you heard Frank Ocean? The guy is absolutely amazing and needs to take home some hardware.

The Lumineers look great as well despite owing a bit of their sound to Mumford & Sons who also look great. I hear Mumford will be doing a cover of 'The Weight" tonight as a tribute to Levon.

Damn...Frank Ocean is talented.

Yo, where the Stones at?

Yeah, Frank Ocean is terrific, isn't he.
Looking at all the nominees...I think he should win all the awards he is nominated for.

There's really no point in watching. As the news item in the following link explains, there will be nothing to see....

Great point.
Ed Sheeran's song is about a hooker too.
Don't know if she resides in the red light district though...

Apparently one of the perks of Adele's recent success is that she gets to borrow the Queen's dresses.

Thanks for clarifying...I was pretty sure she put on a sofa...

What was the significance of playing the Grammy winning "happy" for Depp?
Is his Keith biopic back on?

Does Johnny Depp think he's a 'Stone' now? That Kentucky boy is way too pretentious these days.

Jack White was the only thing worth hearing last night.

I thought the same thing, his performace was electrifying. I didn't stay up for the whole thing as I had to get up early for work. How was the Levon Helm tribute?

Do YOU think that Johnny Depp thinks that he is a stone now? If so, what grade are you in? Are you jealous that he's friends with Keith?

I almost shut it off right after seeing TAYLOR DIMWIT opening the show! For God's sake, what is wrong with those idiots! The opening is supposed to be reserved for a dynamic talent....BUT, having said that, it did get better. What's up with Princes' cane?? A prop? Most of it was pretty entertaining, but I also had to go to bed before Depp came on....work sucks! ( not eating is worse, I guess!) Anyway, I was thrilled for Adele!

Ol Swifty moves product so having her open was probably a marketing move...most products want to be associated with her...

The Grammys are and always have been a joke. They may work for Pop, but that's it.

Many of the voters have never heard the music that they are charged with voting on.

On the Rock and Alt Rock side, the Grammys and even the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame are jokes. Kind of the the anti-thesis of what should be.

Kind of believe in the old comedian's line: 'I would not want to be part of any club that would have me as a member'

Agreed.
From awarding Jethro Tull best Metal band of 1988 to handing out awards to lip synchers to pumping and dumping the latest crapgroup de jour.... I stopped caring about the Shammys long ago. It is not much better than Jann Werners's music and rap tourist attraction in Cleveland.

What if The Stones won album of the year? Or best rock band? Or best single? Would the Grammys be alright then?
