Whatever your inclinations it still depends on age because no-one can go on abusing their body with impunity forever. Even Keith has come to admit that.

I think I would have followed exactly the path my non rock star life took anyway of plenty of debauchery until I reached a point where it was physically unsustainable and mentally corrosive. I see nothing wrong with having a herbal tea and going to bed after a show - a lot of bands have reached that point.

I'd accumulate a massive library, but drugs would be out. It was bad enough, seven years' ago, when I quit cigarettes, so I wouldn't want to take more rubbish into my body.

I guess I would (i) drive a dark grey Lamborghini Aventador; (ii) take no drugs; (iii) fly around the world going to concerts, and maybe the NBA Finals and the Super Bowl once a year; and (iv) get introduced to enough beautiful young women around the world so that I'll always have someone next to me in the front row. I would take things slowly - definitely no Charlie Sheen drugs and porn stars.

Besides, you don't need to be a rockstar to live the life. I remember being at a concert in Amsterdam and this group next to me was this guy who looked like a pirate - old, tall and skin and bones, tats from the neck down, bloodshot eyes, black/missing teeth, sucking on a nice fat joint and holding two cups of beer. He looked like he was in his late 60's but who knows? I thought that was kind of cool.

I would like to live like Jagger, that is a good life

There would probably be alternating periods of living the life for a while, and then living like a reclusive monk for a while, and so on.

I have a relative thru marriage who was worth at least $50 Mil by the time he was in his early 30's. Except for the villa he custom built and his mercedes (plural) in his 4 car garage, he is totally down to earth, however his business partner would be more fitting of the RnR lifestyle.

For me, in my 20's and perhap's 30's, it would have been the RnR lifestyle but not now....so much.

I'd live like Charlie, minus the temporary descent into alcohol and heroin. A stable family, a gorgeous home, rewarding hobbies, and status in other worlds, ie, breeding dogs and Arabian horses.

Or Mick, since he hooked up with L'Wren. It might not be rock and roll, but I would never do anything to abuse my body. And that would include sex with slutty groupies.

get the rock star bennies, but pay none of the dues, and have no connection

I guess I'd be like Cliff Richard then. Or Charlie - he regrets the drugs and alcohol, and he didn't succumb til the RS had been going for 20 years. But I wouldn't have died prematurely like Jimi, Janis, Jim Morrison, Brian, etc.

I'm with you DoomandGloom, but I would add a personal chef and trainer. I'm not picky, I'll take all that money even if I can't be a rockstar.

But, if I was one, I would want to be a combination of Keith and Mick now. Keith for his contentment in marriage and family, Mick for his cosmopoliton Paris life, and both of them for the money.

Of course now I think I could handle it no drugs, porn stars etc etc but almost nobody becomes an overnight rock star at my age.

If I were 18 or in my early 20's I cannot say that I would not have succumb to the allures of being surrounded by scores of very willing incredibly beautiful naked ladies and mountains of cocaine. The mansions, Ferrari's and Lamborghini's and driving full throttle, with reckless abandon, down to the local pub to have a double mixed drink or twelve. I might have survived or I might have OD lying in some London gutter due to some poison H
I scored from the local touts.

I give it about a 50/50 chance I would have survived.

There'd be an adjustment period but I'd party a little hence the chauffeur. Don't think I'd want a trainer I like to exercise and hate anyone telling me how to do it. A chef would be on the list as well as a recording engineer tech for my personal studio near the lake house, across from horse barn above the classic car garage right behind the photo studio for my modeling agency.

Oh yeah, and I would buy the Stones Pinball machine (deluxe version, of course) and set all the high scores since I don't have to work.

I just realized something...

I haven't worked a job in over ten years. My two girlfriends are each almost
twenty years younger than me. I live in a 5000 square foot palace with an
important art collection worth millions. My garden has 35 kinds of fruit trees
and 50 varities of roses. I still drink and drug. And I only eat superfoods
gathered from the farthest reaches of the planet...

Every rockstar should go out like John Entwistle.

God bless him for not giving up so like many aging rockers before him have.

Kinda glad I didn't end up that way. I wanted it in the worst way when I was younger, but it wasn't in the cards. But I got to be in a lot of bands and I got a taste of the whole thing- enough to know that I would have gone overboard if I had the money and connections, and would almost certainly be dead by now.
Better to be alive and happy and able to enjoy the things I have than being a dead rock star.
