OT: Mike Auldridge RIP

A master of the dobro, Mike Auldridge passed away today from cancer. I had the pleasure of seeing The Seldom Scene many times at the Birchmere. They were beloved in the DC area and introduced many people to their unique version of bluegrass music.

Sad news, good-bye Mike!

Regarding that Seldom Scene clip, John Duffey is great here again, BUT
that is not Mike Auldridge on the dobro!
This guy is Fred Travers, Mike quit Seldom Scene ~ 1994.

You're right Rank Stranger,it's not Auldridge. I just posted the video linked to an article about Auldridge, and then was listening to it without watching. Didn't realize it wasn't him playing, thanks for pointing it out. I fixed it.

Sad news indeed. I saw these guys play many times and was always audibly glued to the dobro playing. Was lucky enough to be able to talk to Mike and get a few pointers. He showed me some long single note runs which are with me to this day. I am forever grateful. RIP Mike and thanks for the post bloomer. peace
