Back then the sports section of the newspaper contained all the pro wrestling
results from the little towns all over the Northeast. For example, you could
see how Bruno Sammartino did the night before in Scranton, PA

The WWF logo on everything my second favorite band does from now on.
I'm in absolute heaven.
How well I remember my first in-person match. The National Armory, Elizabeth, NJ,
fittingly only about five miles from the Prudential Center in Newark. Its taken
me fifty-five years to get from one to the other...
Me and my friend James were almost in tears that night when our heroes, tag
team champs Johnny Valentine and Argentina Rocca went down to defeat. But our
little hearts soared when the ref reversed the decision on a technicality,
and our favorite tag team was back on top.
I expect to feel no less wonderful this Saturday night.

Every state had an official wrestling commissioner whose job it was to certify
both matches and results.
And then of course some killjoys came along claiming it was all bullshit and fake,
and then suddenly there was no more wrestling commissioners and there was no more
pro wrestling results in the sports section.
It was very sad.
