I'm sure this is bollox, but here's the latest rumour from the Cowell sh*t factory:

Don't do it Mick, you don't need that kind of cheesy exposure...

That would be even more miserable than Steven Tyler on "American Idol..."

I guess Mick is way too polite, gentle and diplomatic person to really 'judge' anyone, but Keith would be the man if some harsh comments and bullshit is needed... In fact, a natural career move from the usual Disney movies and tabloid 'tell it all' books and interviews he is best known these days... and no need to play the guitar.. cool smiley

It wont happen. (if anything, the notion that Noel Gallagher may have anything to do with this sounds even more ridiculous)

And if it does, its the end of civilization as we know it. We may as well all fold up the tents and go home if the Stones were to stoop to this level.

...Stones already DID this in the early '60s, didn't they?!
Brian, Mick, Charlie, Keith - on the verge of a mondial breakthrough; commenting on "promissing new UK artists & bands" by listening to their demos and/or watching a demo-performance in the tv-studio...
As I recall, it was live television; and the Stones made mostly sarcastic remarks - and were labeled "rude" for that.

So in fact Mick would not so much 'stoop to that level' as to just be repeating himself...
Although times since then have changed; that's true.

Yep. They were the guest panel on 'Juke Box Jury'. All five of them.

Not quite the same thing though, as they were reviewing new releases (it wasnt limited to just by up and coming artists), not judging a contrived, artificial glorified karaoke-fest.

Yeah, and it was a big - no X grinning smiley - factor in building up their nasty, bad boy -image. It was huge televison show at the time - attracted around 12 million every week. The Beatles had done it earlier, and were as charmant, positive as ever, and gave pleasent reviews, and were loved by everyone. The Stones, of course, did the opposite. According to Bill Wyman, they behaved naturally, but this is how a guy named Robert Ottaway wrote in DAILY SKECH (19n August, 1964):

"When The Stones slumped into their chairs as pannelllists on Juke Box Jury, many tut-tutting elders took it as a declaration of war. When the Stones opened their mouths, their strangulated vowels couldn't have been identified in the Oxford English Dictionary. Many thought they needed an interpreter. Some called for the resignation of the Minister of Education. The fury was all on the adult side."

Someone named Russell Forgham described the happening in Churchillian terms in a letter to the NME:

"Never in the course of human history has so much drivel been stouted by so few in front of so many".

I guess Mick wahtever he does will not cause such an impact any longer.

Or maybe it will get something to the effect:

"Its the end of civilization as we know it. We may as well all fold up the tents and go home if the Stones were to stoop to this level."

X-factor (originally titled 'Pop Idol') is a talent show in the UK which has been running for about 5 or 6 years, and which has been re-branded and marketed internationally (it's called 'American Idol' in the US, for example). I'm sure there's a French equivalent.

As for a porn movie, its probably the most revolting form of musical pornography imaginable.

Nope. Long lost, unfortunately, although there are a few photos of the event.

Duetting with Justin Trousersnake, private gigs for bankers, monster trucks, halloween masks and Days of our Feckin Lives have indicated that if The End isn't quite 'Nigh', then it may well be just around the corner. Something like this would pretty much herald the Apocalypse!
