Edith Grove... thanks for posting for me
!
We knew the night was going to be special mainly because Ronnie Baker Brooks & Big Head Todd together would be a great show. About halfway through, Ronnie makes mention of special guests in the house (his Dad, Lonnie Brook, brother Wayne Baker Brooks, best Chicago DJ and host of Blues Breakers Tom Marker, and none other than Steve Jordan). Steve was trying to be discreet with an orange hoodie over his head. Lonnie & brother Wayne got up and played a few songs with them, one being Sweet Home Chicago... Lonnie used his Miller Lite bottle to strum the guitar with for a bit. After a great version of Ronnie & Big Head Todd doing King Bee, they called Steve Jordan up to play with them. Ronnie's drummer came down and asked me to take some pics of Steve on his drum set... he was so excited to have Steve Jordan play on his set! They played 2 or 3 songs (by this time the vodka & adrenaline had kicked in & I don't remember what they played)! Apparently, Steve also plays for Big Head Todd when he's with the 'Monsters'. I so wanted to chat with Steve about the Wino's, but knew better. There's a lot of posts on Fitzgerald's FB of people saying this was probably the best show @ Fitzgerald's this year and I have to agree! It looks like they may be playing @ Hollywood Casino in Aurora on December 15th also. Wouldn't quite have the ambience of Fitzgerald's, but worth checking out if you're in the Chicago area.
