Q to those who already saw the Stones at the 02 arena

Do you really have stay seated?

Do they sell beer on the floor?

Towards the end of the concert, are you allowed to move to the FOS section?

Any hope for a riot (see Rome last tour)?

Do you have to stay seated?
Depends. It actually states on Ticket Master that people may stand throughout the performance. It depends what the crowd's like and what the people are like immediately around you.

Do they sell beer on the floor?
Yes!

Towards the end of the concert do as you will! What's going to happen?

Are you kidding? Keith will take swings at you with his "axe" if you misbehave.

Nice video about the O2 if you haven't been there.

o2 wasn't a bad room . The second show was a bit too loud for the acoustics...but that's the usual problem with large indoor arenas

O2 Security is tougher than most places. For example, they kept people in the floor blocks from straying too far into the aisles for most of the show. I remember because I was with my daughter, who was 8 years old at the time, and they let her (and only her) stand in the aisle next to the catwalk, so that she had an unobscured view of the stage (they also gave her a Ronnie guitar pick that was thrown from the moving stage and landed in the catwalk area - which I promptly confiscated smiling smiley ).

Last time I remember being distinctly pissed off with the security spoilsports who insisted we all stay rigidly glued to our chair areas. angry smiley

Hopefully it will not be the same this time! smoking smiley

i was there, first night in 2007.

seated behind middle stage.
you could take beer with you.
we were told to remain seated.
i told one steward, you are crazy.
they are the Stones man.

and.. as soon as the band went for the middle stage, we all went rushing for the band.
stewards went ape shit.

Only R and R

Good night was had by one and all, except for the stewards

I remember security getting heavy-handed with people who left their seats to take pictures from the aisle - but no problem with standing in your own seat, or taking pix from there.

It's much better than Wembley arena. However, I hate all seater shows because I want to jump and dance around.

Are you allowed to take your camera in?

Didn't have any problem with the usual small digital job.

I don't think any venue mind you taking a small camera in, just as long as you don't use the flash

You can take beer to your seat. Last time I went there was to see AC/DC, the floor was all standing of course and they had people walking round selling beer out of those back pack things they do now

You've got more chance of hearing The Moon Is Up than being allowed to run for the stage

If anyone thinks i'm sitting down after paying £££ they can think again

My son and his mate were well up for the show seated near to small stage. They tried twice nearing the end to get to fos and were evicted on both occasions. Luckily enough suss and patter to get back in both times. Stewards were if not heavy very strict.

Where I was the steward was a total fascist. No one allowed to stand up or step sideways into the aisle. Bummer. Not what you want at a Stones show.

Maybe one day I'll get round to writing up my recollections of my first show, quite the opposite experience...

O2 same as most seated venues.

Herded in and corralled like cattle.

Demonstrations of individuality will not be tolerated.

Expressions of emotion must be kept to a minimum.

Now lie down n go to sleep

Bummer.

Fvck That. I wannna DANCE Sister

you can get a beer and take to your seat, i was in the 2nd tier and next to the exit, which had plenty places to buy drinks etc.

also took a small camera in, smuggled it in, didnt want to risk it being taken.

also no point in using a flash from where i was seated, never ever understood why you got hundreds of peoples cameras flashing at the same time whenever there was a big football match on and the teams were coming out, not as if the flash will reach where it is intended to.

It's a real pain for Stones fans who are 18 inches tall.

So cameras are tolerated and phones are allowed? That's good to hear although being in the pit I'm not sure about taking a camera. My iPhone 4S should do the trick for some blurry pics. Besides once you start making a little movie you want to keep going for 30+ seconds and you're missing on the action.

I take it there some kind of cloakroom, with a fee I suppose, to offload a backpack and coat?
