18 new songs in 4 days? No wonder they didn't have time to finish the first two!

Come on - had it been Macca or Bruce, they would have been just wonderful, but Stones - needs to be slashed.

18?

Easy for them to say because we'll probably never actually HEAR those "songs." 18...might as well be 80...no real difference.

Didn't they boast that the 40 Licks/"Don't Stop" sessions in 2002 brought them like 30-some tracks? I can't recall the actual figure now but either Ronnie or Keith said that. Yeah that's really great. Did we hear any more of those songs on ABB or any time since then? Nope. (And probably for the best).

18 songs from the 2012 Paris sessions? After hearing "One More Shot" I'm not anxious to hear more.

Perhaps by "new songs" Ronnie meant they rehearsed 18 songs that they don't normally play. Hot Stuff, that's not in your typical set list. Neither is I Wanna Be Your Man etc...

In four days? Take a wild guess!

I don't believe him for a second.

Funny that neither of the two songwriters have even hinted that they worked on anything else but the two songs they released.

I was only poking fun at the goobers that are whining about the unfinishedness of the songs.

I like them both actually.

He hinted about cutting a new album possibly in the spring. Not sure exactly what he meant when he mentioned the 18 songs.

Kind of like an Elvis Costello session. Sit down and play. His Momofuku album was like that. One take and roll. I wondered where he got the title Momofuku...but it was apparently the name of the inventor of the 'instant' Ramen noodles - a meal made quickly. It fit the album (which I like).

I doubt Macca could record that way. I was reading yesterday how the guitarist who played in the first version of Wings quit because Macca recorded in snippets and controlled everything...very pre-planned, and was so stressed because the guitarist wanted to record the solo for My Love live in the studio and just let it come out.

Some of the best music out their is that organic, let's-see-what-happens stuff. I can't imagine Jagger doing it, but I bet Keith would

Doesn't really matter what any of them said. There will be a new album sometime next year.

I guess in this case, it's better with those 18 new RS songs in the bush, than those 2 new ones in the hand

BV is the new Chuck Leavell. Knows all. Why does BV still have to line up for the surprise gigs? He should be driven with the other insiders in a van. Enter sans ticket by the special door. Gratis.

Crazy talk.

And it would suck.

@justin - we got "well, well, well" and "extreme western grip" from these sessions ;-)

That quote reminds me of when Ronnie came out of this dinner with Mick in early 1997 after being brought up to speed on B2B (or Blessed Poison) as it was called at the time and saying that from now on they would putting out an alb every 18 months 'cause they didn't have that much time left...we know what happened with that ;-)

Having said that, I wouldn't be suprised if they were back in the studio early next year, fresh off these 4 concerts...

- Dylan can record an album in a day - just take the acoustic guitar and play covers badly with no melody whatsoever or play covers with new lyrics on top of it and take all the credit for himself - very easy, cause that's what he's been doing in recent years.
