I have just come across a track the STONES recorded in 1998 I believe called "HONEST I DO"...is everyone aware of this track?

I got it on a promotional CD from a well known music publisher.

Anyone know the story or what session it is from...a possible B2B outtake?

It's from the soundtrack to a movie called Hope Floats. Don Was produced the soundtrack, more info can be found at [www.amazon.com]

I believe the track is a Stripped outtake, but I am not certain. I'm trying to remember if it is on the bootleg Stripped Companion. Does anybody know more about this?

the fact that its on the Hope Floats soundtrack is troubling, to say the least . . .

sure is. Honest I Do is a good song, though.

oh...don't know much about the movie, but Connick's the real deal, musically. Seen him a number of times.

he's not much of an actor. 'hoping' for a good performance wasn't enough!

Jimmy Reed is amazing. I've been listening to tons of stuff lately. Kind of the missing link between Muddy/Wolf and Chuck.

Hope Float's soundtrack went to #1 in US and has sold more than 2 million copies there. It was the last US #1 album to date with a Stones song on it, I mean with the whole band performing.

Jimmy Reed was a world-class drunk. Always loved that guy....

Johnny Winter did a great cover of this blues classic on his late 70's album, "White, Hot & Blue"

Just buy it on the soundtrack. It´s official.

Took a chartered bus from DC to New York one time with a buddy and we had the misfortune of Hope Floats being played during ride up. Would have rather been water-boarded.

I still remember my buddy's take on the experience: 'Shit floats, too, but at least you don't have to watch it.'
