I don't think Ronnie is that drunk.

Nicely oiled is how I would describe it.

Yes, and I do not believe that this was too pleasant for them.

Ross and another stone.

Respect to Charlie, he doesn't play the "loveable fella" celebrity game.

I love the the way he apologised at the end of the interview.

Nothing to be apologetic about, you were true to yourself Charlie, good on you.

December 2001. Just a couple of days after the three London and Dublin gigs he did to promote 'Not for Beginners'. Jesse and Leah were in his band. I was at the Dublin show and it was great fun (especially thanks to an amazing guest appearance by Slash who played for most of the gig)), but it was quite evident he needed to sort himself out.

A couple of months later he checked into the Cottonwood Clinic in Arizona to dry out for the Licks tour.

Did he appear on Jools Holland around that time?

He sang "Ooh La La" (badly).

He was definitely drunk on that one.

Taken from Let's Spend The Night Together. It's even funnier on film, especially the expression on Ronnie's face a couple of seconds after the last picture here grinning smiley

he was in the band on Jool's New years Eve hootenanny show a couple of weeks later, and was OK as far as I recall...he didnt sing Ooh La La

The trainwreck version of that song thats on youtube and which may be what youre referring to comes from (I think) a show at the Albert Hall in 2004 for the Teenage Cancer Trust. Fortunately as I'm at work, I cant upload the video but its up there with Mick's lip-synched TOTP appearance of 'Lets work' as the most excruciatingly embarrassing Stones-related video clip ever.

Definitely not for the squeamish.

Like GravityBoy, I seem to recall a (not too bad, though, except for the vocals) tv-performance of Ooh La La round that time?

Yes he did it on Jools Holland (I watched it this morning on YouTube) with his son playing acoustic behind him.

He was slightly slurred, not as bad as I remembered, and certainly not as bad as the Albert Hall one where is was practically incoherent.
