The Glimer Twins on a cruise

Back in late 1977, the Stones did a radio interview in NYC before going to Paris to record Some Girls. While talking to Ronnie, the interviewer mentioned the phrase "Glimmer Twins" in which Ronnie (then changed the subject) and went on to explain where that title came from. Apparently, the Stones were on a cruise and some (older) lady went up to Mick and Keith and was trying to figure out who they were. I guess they were playing around with her and she then started to say "Can't you give me a Glimmer - who you are".

Anyone know if this is BS or is in fact true. If true, then when and where did this occur.

Its true. It came from a holiday they took in Brazil and Peru (with Anita and Marianne) at the end of 1968.

"Honky Tonk Women" was written during this trip.
