Tons out there, Googum® it.

OK, mud wrestle to which was the best lineup:

Denny Laine
Justin Hayward
Patrick Moraz
Post Keyboardist Lineups

For me, the spacey, navel-gazing Pinder/Hayward/Lodge lineup was best.

I'm a big fan. Met Justin Hayward once too. The whole band is a class act. They should be in The hall Of Fame with the merit of the first 7 albums. If you want a great live DVD. Buy Live At The Greek Theater. Try this site.

The currant line up live is the best post Pinder. On album with out a doubt when Pinder was in the band. King of the Mellotron.

Aren't they already in the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame?? Boy, if not, that's a huge oversight! I've seen them a few times and they're incredible!

They are not. What a joke.

Love them up to Seventh Sojourn. In Search Of The Lost Chord is a psychedelic classic.

I have seen the Moodies at least 20 times since the Octave return tour in 1979 or 1980 ( at least, I think that was the year). I met John, Justin and Ray at a Chinese Restaurant on Boston around 1986- pretty cool experience. They were all very cordial and friendly; I was the only one who had recognized them there. Their best shows were when they had an orchestra with them. I saw then with an orchestra several times and all the shows were incredible. I saw them most recently at Westbury Music Fair in April 2012. They still sound great. They are touring again in the fall; check out their website for tour dates, packages, etc. I did a package for around $250 and got a front row seat, some soundcheck access, tour of stage, and autograph photo of Justin, John and Graeme. I agree that they should be in the RRHOF. I cannot believe they aren't. "Days of Future Passed" was ahead of its time and remains a classic album.

This is a hoot. Moodys wearing leather and trying to look like they're all "decadent" and stuff. Yeah, as if ....

Yes, always loved the Moodies and saw them in concert several times in the 80s and 90s--always a great show. One thing that surprises you when you see them in concert is how much heavier and rockin' they sound live--somehow their records don't give the impression of the forcefulness they display as a live band. Justin Hayward, a very underrated guitarist, likewise John Lodge as a bassist.

In the 60s they used to cover the Animals song Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood--there's an uptempo version from their Live at the BBC collection. This version here is a clip, slower and more 'Moody' from a 1968 French TV show, Le Soir En Danse.

And for comparison, here is the May 29, 1967 version they did for Saturday Club.

Moody Blues has a surprising number of albums released in the 60's ... they sound very 70's across the board ...

Are you a fan of them too Phil? Love Van Der Graaf and Hammill, well at least their 60s and 70s output.

Check out "Moody Bluegrass", vol 2 is on high rotation in the vox household at the moment. Mrs vox runs a weekly folk music programme & they sent her a copy

It's not as naff as it sounds...

This is the latest song in our repertoire..for last Valentines I bought Mrs vox a dozen roses & a mandolin, she's doing very well.....
