At 6:08 to be precise. I wonder why this footage now suddenly pops up, after 35 years...

There's 8 parts of this I believe.

Don't know. There's similar footage for the Anaheim 78 show (silent with dubbed songs) that popped up 35 years later, too. I'll have to watch all 8 parts later tonight.
Great find! Is it from all 5 shows? I'm at work right now, so I can't watch it all at once.

Which role played Jesse Ed Davis with the band? was this collaboration the only one?

This footage seems to be (silent) Super-8 film. Hardly a "pro" format but it look great!

thats the bonus DVDr from Empress Valleys's "Whores, Cocaine, & A Bottle of Jack",
containing silent movies from all 5 shows in LA.

btw, it didnt pop up recently, it´s circulating for ages.

What song is it when Jagger takes off flying ? "Hot Stuff"? When he touches back down he does a couple of moves that seem to fit with the "Hot Stuff" rhythm. winking smiley

I think I can hear alien voice-overs during the first 30 seconds of the clip too.

Hot Stuff wasnt debuted until 1976.

As falo says, he rode over the crowd when Billy was singing 'Outta Space'.

And they didn't play it in the US until 1994. In fact, the opening show of VL may still be the *only* time they've played HS in the US (is that right?).

it wasnt circulating online until I uploaded it on hc last year,
so this is the reason why it suddenly appears on youtube now and not earlier.
the EV Box is pretty rare and as far as I know not every copy of it has the bonus disc.
it was new to me (the DVDr) until last year as well.

I got my video between 1986 - 1989 around the same time I got the b/w photos of the 13th. I remember showing it to the guy who took the photos. My video tape is about an hour long with clips from the 9th, 11th, 12th & 13th. The longest section on the tape is from the 12th I believe.

This is a great shot, taken from about the same angle where I was seated on the 13th!

As I've mentioned here before, seated a few rows below me were Jim Keltner and George Harrison! George got up to leave just before the encore and waved goodbye to Billy...

This is exactly what I've always said...that the previous tour that just missed is the one that really haunts you.

My first was '75, but it kills me that I missed them in '72.

And I'm sure there's a '72 dude who saw Gimme Shelter and felt the same way about '69, so there you go.

Yeah yer probably right. My buddy's first show was San Diego 1972. He wishes he was at the San Diego '69 show.
