I remember in those years I played a bit of snooker myself (being a student it was one way to
spend the hours before the heavy drinking started) and I was a "fan" of Jimmy's. There was a
famous joke from "Not the 9 o'clock news" at the time, where a viewer wrote a letter to the BBC,
saying "I want more snooker on the tele" finishing his note with "PS, I am crazy". Me and a couple
of friends told ourselves this joke a lot of times, when we spent the night watching these endless
games. Needless to say, there was a lot of beer involved in this activity.

It is good to know now, that Jimmy was close with Ronnie at the time. It gives the odd activities
during my student years at least some Rock 'n Roll status.
