If they were playing across the street for free, I wouldn't bother to go . I have good memories of them from 64 to 73.

My enthusiasm would spike considerably if the Stones would just release a box set of the entire '72 tour, ala The Grateful Dead. We'd have fun with that, wouldn't we? spinning smiley sticking its tongue out

1964 wasn't born yet
1967 wasn't born yet
1972 wasn't born yet
1978 2 (I liked singing the chorus to Miss You on the bus to kindergarten)
1986 1 (my friend's older sister had Dirty Work - we would make terrible fun of it)
1991 11 (i'd seen the Stones in 89 for the first time, become a complete convert and Flashpoint was my #1 tape that summer)
1998 8 (No Security was a bit of a dissapointment, first time I saw the Stones and thought "where the #$%& were the guitars??)
2003 9 (Licks was 5th time seeing them, enjoyed it more than '98)
2007 5 (became on iorr member, got a bunch of recent boots from 2006-2007 and thought "YEEESH! They don't even sound like they're trying)
2012 8 (Mick's vault-swimming brought my interest back considerably. MORE OLD STUFF PLEASE!!)

Always 10

But now being in my fourties they keep 10 mainly due to laziness regarding searching new stimulus. I do not need music in the stronger way I needed in the past, at all. So they have won. Competition is over.

Is there anything better than, for instance, the first seconds of Brown Sugar?

Or the opening of the concerts in their last tour when the heart was beating inside the mouth while the lions were getting out the cage?

Why? Is there a standard that one must love all years and eras of the Stones?

Obviously not. At least on this forum there isn't.

We need a spreadsheet to rate the totals in multiple categories. I am assuming this is merely the debut salvo of many surveys/ratings data we should accumulate.

Lets not forget The Stones themselves read here and may find this information useful.

Here are my answers:

1964 5 barely aware of their music, as I was quite young, but it began to seep in between the Beatles and Supremes on AM Radio
1967 9 Ruby Tuesday and Satisfaction.. I was getting hooked
1972 5 Not paying much attention - but vaguely aware of Brown Sugar
1978 10 Miss You, Beast of Burden.. I became a Stones fanatic
1986 10 Still going through the archives (backwards) and becoming a fanatic
1991 8 Holding out much hope...liked the Steel Wheels tour.
1998 10 Voodoo Lounge still loomed large in my mind. Ranked highest since TY
2003 7 Losing faith
2007 6 Losing faith
2012 10 High hopes based on PMS... of Wyman and Taylor returning

Too bad, you missed out on some of the best years...

...and no "real" fan would reject a free show next door, would they?

No doubt the Stones have their "watchmen" combing sites like this.

I fell in love with them for five minutes. And then after those five minutes I've thought, "They've sucked ever since those first five minutes. They ain't what they used to be. God, they should have broken up after those first five minutes. OhMyGod they became so embarrassing after those first five minutes." I'm the only one who knows anything about when they Stones were great and everyones else's opinion just blows. My opinion is AWESOOOOME.
