Welcome Back Kotter's Robert Hegyes, Epstein died at the age of 60 from cardiac arrest, not a musician but part of the pop culture of the time.

Brian's been dead for some time now. John and Paul got over it, in time you will as well.

I thought he meant Howie Epstein, but he's been gone a couple years now.

Has Arnold Horshack been reached for comment? As you may remember, his surname means "cattle are dying."

RIP Robert Hegyes (aka Juan Epstein) -

Sadly, unlike the rest of the actors in that show, he was nearly unrecognizable as his younger self....

I didn't care for the show at first, but in retrospect a sweet TV show. The closing credits capture the feel of mid/late 1970s nyc very well.

Funny how Gabe Kaplan ended up being little more than a supporting player on his own show. The Sweathogs totally eclipsed him. Lawrence Hilton-Jacobs turned out to be a rather fine actor. Did a great job playing Joe Jackson in the made-for-TV movie "The Jacksons: An American Dream".

I thought he accepted a teaching post in Australia?
