Has anyone ever heard or read an interview where Charlie speaks at any length about his period of heroin use? I listened to a brief interview that was posted on the Stones site from the BBC but it didn't reveal much. It's usually said that he was "drug free" for most of the years and didn't try heroin until the mid eighties. Then I read another interview where he said something about taking "uppers" during tours "just to stay awake and perform." Well, that's a polite way to talk about speed, so that's not really drug free. He also made a remark in a seventies interview about being able to "hear better behind a bit of smoke." So was he smoking weed, too? Just curious. Perhaps the "drug free" tag wasn't quite correct. Maybe compared to Keith and Ron....
