Keith is playing a Gibson S-1 in this photo, and I think it's the only gig he used it at. Ron Wood was a Gibson S-1 (or Marauder) endorser. Be interesting to find out what song(s) he used it on.

last time we discussed this shot someone said they reckon it's a Marauder Keith's got -
apparently Gibson did have Keith do some kind of endorsement for it as well:

actually that image could be from the El Mo, couldn't it, if he had a patterned jacket on early in the gig

Oh, I wish, with sssoul! I wasn't able to get quite that close to the
stage. The place was packed.

well so maybe this will refresh your memory, in that case! :E

Yeah, I couldn't remember if it was the S-1 or the Marauder. I seem to remember Wood endorsing both, though I could be wrong. That picture you posted is a Marauder that Keith has. Still it would be interesting to know what tunes he used it on. Wood also endorsed the L6-S if I remember. I had one of those; it was a pretty good guitar from what I remember. You don't hear much about these guitars nowadays.

Nice read! Too bad they edited the 'Charlie only does it for the money' bit out of the record.

By the way, I remember a statement by Keith that the recording of the first show was unlistenable with lots of static and crackles, and that most of LYL is from the second show.

That person was me, and I think it is a Marauder, not an S-1. The picture of Keith with patterned jacket was taken at the Gibson factory in Nashville, somewhere in June 1975.

yeah of course - i've always had it marked 1975, and i have that other shot of him and Ronnie at the Gibson factory.
i was just getting overexcited :E ... but i do reckon the shot below is another one from the first El Mo gig -
the good Honestman posted it for us a while ago - i just never realized before that it looks like the El Mo.

I love the bass playing of Bill on Dance Little Sister (Mocambo version). It is just powerful, tremendous, terryfic. I recommed listening this song with your headphones. "Pope declares: Bill Wyman is God".
