Whats The Stones most Controversial Song

What would be the most controversial song The Rolling Stones ever wrote and why?

C o c k s u c k e r Blues...the title says it all.

Probably their most controversial released track would be either Star Star or Some Girls.

Star Star because of the chorus and the name dropping of Steve McQueen and John Wayne... there were fears of lawsuits, that never happened.
Some Girls caused a stir with "black girls just wanna get f... all night, I just don't have that much jam" The American politician Jessie Jackson threw a hissy fit, and it was quite a media story for a while.

Sweet Neo Con also caused a stir during a time in US history when most Americans do not want to look in the mirror and see their own political complexions.

Is there any banned songs from Stones? If Zappa had 100 controversial songs, Stones may had 1...

Banned by who? The Chinese gov't banned 4 songs from 40 LICKS which they subsequently could not play when they eventually performed there.

Several videos were banned, and a sloppy edit of "She's So Cold" had to be released to radio stations (the label said something like "Goddamn-less version").

>> Banned by who? <<

Chicago radio stations wouldn't play SFM when it came out, and the original picture sleeve had to be recalled

"If Zappa had 100 bad songs, Stones may had 1..." >grinning smiley<

[EDIT : to make it clear : Zappa sucked, he died, he's about to be forgotten despite numerous attempts by his son to revive the "myth". Voila]

For the modern Stones period i think it may be SWEET NEO CON..

I remember when Bigger Bang was released the Stones cut a deal with nascar to use their song--Driving too fast, for
their car race promo's..

But as you may know many race car fans are also a little right wing and they were not to happy about a band putting down the
president...I think Neo Con really hurt sales of Bang with race fans as it turned off a lot of new listeners who may have otherwise got into the track, Driving too fast and the album bigger bang.

Sadly Sweet Neo Con is not a very good song and i think it may have hurt more then it made them look cool.
I agree with Keith on this one... Not sure if they should have gone down that road.

I once had the chance to ask Jesse Jackson, face-to-face, what he thought of Some Girls, and I blew it!

I didn't think to ask!
