I'm talking about the price and value of the Super-Deluxe set, not the relative merits of the remastering or what you happen to think of the artist.
You can put together the new EOMS CD and the vinyl for about $50. The book is nice, but is cheaply produced. Is it worth $60-70? I don't think so, more like $15-20. The DVD in the EOMS set is a sampler, which is now obsolete (unless you count the few minutes of CSB ). If you want the full Stones in Exile and the L&G DVDs you now have to fork out another $25-30 to get the complete versions. So charging $120-140 for the super-deluxe EOMS set is a great way to shaft your fans in my opinion. If you paid less, then good for you. I paid about $115, and felt totally ripped off. I think the pricing and content of the BB set is a much more interesting way to deal with a classic album reissue. Whether you want to listen to BB or not is up to you.
