Some would argue Mick already did forget how to sing.

but nothing that practice would cure - only a fifth of jack....

Some would argue Mick already did forget how to sing. He's also had trouble losing his voice on every tour for the past 21 years. They are both old and more fragile than they used to be.

And The Greek, your comment will doubtless spark people to correct you that it technically isn't arthritis, but I'll just sit back and wait and let it take its natural course.
ok , please tell me what it is ?

there is no rolling stones without keith but the honest truth is that charlie is the only stone that can still perform like he used to onstage.

Rocky, it IS arthritis - it's a form of arthritis. It's in the arthritis family. It's not "just" arthritis. Just as there is some term for how someone dies other than plain 'ol heart failure, Keith's (form of) arthritis is a factor.

I would argue that - occasional nasal vocals aside - Mick is still *very much* up to par.

Hell, what do you expect at this stage? How old is most of the band now, late 60's? Its no surprise. But if they wanna play and people wanna see them then go for it.

Bring back Kent Smith. That'll solve everything.

thats goood,,, lol... i would love to go back to being the term from the mouth of babes,, but they havent made a machine to go back that far in time,, hehe,,,

actually as far as keith retiring i would love for him to go out solo or with the winos,,, all Keith needs to realize is that he doesnt nned to kick and gyrate,, and he is just fine,,,

as for me i love keiths attitude form years ago till know,, he is what he is love him or hate him ,, he dont give a shit,,,

I suspect Keith will be very interesting to watch considering Patti's recent health issues that she's overcome and his admitting that he no longer drinks like he used to etc...I'm expecting a revitalized Keith with something to say. That can only be great for the Rolling Stones.

You guys all live in Keith's house?!! Wow!! That must be one big MF-n house. Cause I don't live there so I don't know whether he's been playing or not. Lucky people you are. And about the breaks, does anybody else remember the years between Steel Wheels and Voodoo Lounge?

The man's a hero of mine, but it's painful to watch him anymore. Retirement would be a dignified course of action, which would mean the end of the Rolling Stones.

KeefintheNight82 said:"As far as I'm concered, Keith can't do anything to change the great music he has already made for 40 odd years. That will be there no matter what.

And I will still go see him even if he only has one fuggin' note left. And I'll cheer if he manages to get out an extra note or two".

+1 I agree 100%

Beside the artritis, there was the tree fall episode who was a serious warning.
A whole life also with tons of abuse and that's it.
Yes it's sad, no Keith , no STONES anymore...
Hope I'm wrong and he can play in one way or another and still writing some songs
alone or with the help of other musicians, that could be a good deal.
The guy is amazing so ...
