Now that is a live show and normally live interviews.Just looked at the link thanks to Rolling Hansie and will be a recorded interview which is obvious I guess.Should be interesting and we will probably hear about the Marquee 50th story but not much else new.Still, any interview by any Stone is good news. thumbs up

Just listened to the interview and everyone was very careful not to mension The Rolling Stones although he did talk about dubbing exile and some girls. Interessting interview. It is really good that he is involved with a new project.

He talked about Superheavy and Some Girls, including the process of making the bonus tracks. He also talked about the differences between the music industry then and now and even about Move Like Jagger! He did seem to say at one point that there was no new Stones album in the pipeline - or at least he was asked if writing the lyrics for the bonus tracks made him feel like doing some new Stones stuff and he said he was quite happy and had never thought about it but then went on to say that doing bonus tracks was not like cutting new songs. So maybe he just meant he'd never thought about it while he was making the bonus tracks...

Does this iPlayer link work outside the UK? Interview is about an hour in.

If not, for future reference for anyone outside the UK wanting to listen without restrictions to BBC radio (or radio stations the whole world over), the first option if you have a smartphone is to get the TuneInRadio app. It's brilliant and you can very easily record any radio show as well. I did record the Jagger interview using the app and tried to see if I could transfer it somehow, but without success (sorry). I don't have the faintest idea if it's even possible to do so - after looking at the recording, I somehow doubt it. Maybe a technogeek out there can tell us....

The second option is to try using the TuneIn website: [tunein.com]

Can someone outside the UK try listening to a BBC radio station via the website and let us know if it works OK?

I don't think that they were particularly careful to "avoid" talking about the Stones. SuperHeavy is coming out next week so it's hardly surprising that it dominated conversation. There was chat about Some Girls and recording bonus tracks as well as Mick being asked about a new Stones album. Simon sort of just let Mick get on with doing most of the talking which is good really. Better than an interviewer who always wants to be heard anyhow.

It occurred to me that with the "new" Exile and Some Girls tracks, Mick gets to work on Stones material without Keith. Must be like heaven to him.

Thanks for posting link to BBC 2...I find MJ predictable but I love listening to the news, etc. and just the English style of radio. I loved working and living in the UK several years ago; felt real comfortable there. Such history and a somewhat more refined culture with the working class culture as well. Listening to this radio reminded me of listening to the BBC every day when I lived in Cambridge.

There is nothing unusual about pushing the current project of the moment.

Announcement of tour plans would be handled in the way it has in the past - full tilt.

Relax.

It's available now on Simon Mayo R2 for a limited time . . .

Have a listen, it's quite interesting, about 18 minutes long

Cheers

It says a lot about the conclusions that come out of speculation...

Nice to hear Mick speaking about his music done more than 30 years ago...and who didn't...

Well, nice to hear that some of the songs actually had already vocals on them, so there will be actually "authentic" bonus tracks on SOME GIRLS Deluxe.

It is also interesting how he here so sharply distinguishes this project from making "new Stones music". In other times he claims he just does the same thing be the backing track done yesterday or 40 years ago... Any yes, Jagger here actually admits that EXILE did sell reasonably well, which seemed to be at the time the condition for these kind of projects to happen in future..
