Hi!

I´ve seen on ebay poppin´ up these alternate Vinyls. Does somebody know what´s about them. Are they good? All on vinyl with well made covers etc.

I have several of these Swingin' Pig Alternates: Aftermath, Satanic Majesties, Beggars, LIB, Exile, Sticky, GHS. Never listened to any of them, though, so I cannot comment on the sound quality.

Avoid them. They are copied from CD sources. So you're buying digital audio on analog releases - it's real silly. Just get the CDs (or FLAC files) instead. Same goes for the "TMOQ" releases of 1972-1973 live recordings. I have some of them. It was not worth buying, of course - but I got them for a cheap price.

They're called "An English Affair", "Belgium 73 Vol. 1 / Vol. 2", "German Affair" etc etc. Main point; if you see a *new* vinyl release - then don't buy it, unless you only want it for the artwork (not soundquality). Because ALL new vinyl releases are copied from CDs. There's no "real" vinyl releases from the bootlegers anymore. They're all made to make the people "who like the artworks" shell out money to them. As mentioned earlier; I have a couple of them - including the incredible stupid release "Dancing With Mr J", which is taken directly from CD - running at the wrong speed. So I know what I'm talking about.....I'm not trying to "stir things up".

And, of course, they are NOT from Swingin' Pig - just like these TMOQ releases, they are fake. Manufacturers just want to cash in by using the good names of these labels. They know that if they release this stuff on new label names they would sell even less.

Well, what can I say? These are the times when packaging wins over content?

I did wonder about the many "sealed" bootlegs that keep cropping up in europe on ebay with the authentic looking paper insert covers, coloured vinyl etc.

Lots of re-issues of well know bootlegs, minus the analog splendor.

I don't question your integrity and I appreciate the head's up re: the "Dancing with Mr J" LP. I have seen that one listed online & wondered about it.

The Real Alternate Albums are very nice. I have all 12 box sets released and they are great. I am listening the Sticky Fingers Real Alternate Album now. Very good stuff.

Anyone here who has the double LP alternate Some Girls from the "Swinging' Pig"? I'm trying to find out which version of When The Whip Comes Down is on it. The 6 minute one or the 10 minute one.
