I liked the use of "Monkey Man"in the movie"Good Fellas", the scene where Henry Hill (Ray Liotta) is driving around with his wife, they have a bag of guns in the trunk of his cadillac and they believe they are being followed by the narcotic police helicopter. They put the bag of guns in his mother in laws' garbage can, go shopping, go back later, get the guns and deliver the guns to the drug dealer. George Harrison's What is Life is also in this scene

Mick's rock, I'm roll.

Not a movie so to speak, but Thru & Thru was used superbly in The Sopranos.

Deja vu all over again

And I still believe it is Can't You Hear Me Knocking at the beginning of Blow.

Greetings from the Jersey Shore.

"Gimme Shelter" seems to be quite popular with Movies and Television. Tonight on Criminal Minds.. "Gimme Shelter" played throughout the programme.

Loved "Satisfaction" in "Apocolypse Now". Seemed to fit with the unrest/war & the young soldiers.

Yeah, that's a great musical beginning to that movie . .!

And is that the only film opener by the Stones?

Martin Scorcese made Goodfellas and Casino too. He often uses Stones music in his films - also in Mean Streets (Tell Me, JJF) & the Departed (Gimme Shelter), and probably more.

And of course he directed Shine a Light, so you know he's a big fan. Jagger has joked that Shine a Light might be the only Scorsese film not to have Gimme Shelter in it.

Keefan,
Martin Scorcese's films are always brilliant. Good Fellas is my #1 movie all time. Loved Shine a Light also.

^^^ Hi Marchbaby, Goodfellas is one of my absolute favorite movies too. Haven't seen all of Scorcese's films, but love the ones I've seen...Raging Bull, Taxi Driver, etc.

I just got Mean Streets on dvd, first time I'd seen in it in a long time. Forgot how good it was! Love "Tell Me" at the beginning of it.

There's a scene in Coming Home, where one of the wheelchairded veterans is about to commit suicide, and IIRC the music played is Sympathy. But I've seen that movie a long time ago, so I may have mixed up the scenes and music.

Nevertheless, that scene made a big impression on a young man.

And I loved the use of Jumpin' Jack Flash when Rhys Ifans' character appears (even if the scene is set before JJF was released).

Monkey Man used in an episode of 21 Jump Street, from the 80's, where Johnny Depp is playing basketball and is messed up on heroin.

We see the game, from Depp's drugged out perception.

It is fantastic, and when I watched it, only the one time, I nearly fell out of my seat as I wasn't expecting it.

It was excellent.

I seem to remember Jerry Maguire having a scene where Jerry (Tom Cruise) is in his car clicking radio stations, lands on Bitch for a few seconds, then clicks on.

If you like movies about people, family, and relationships and don't like Hollywood's oversimplified characters and facile plots, this film is for you.THE BEST FILM with a STONES'S SONG (Sympathy for the devil during The catholic church service - fantastic).
Go out of your way to see this film. It deserves far more attention than it is getting in the U.S. (Scuse me, I'm French)
The best Canadian film ever. You can also hear Bowie, Pink floyd, Aznavour, Charlebois, Cure and some others.
