i have a vast amount of cds i want to categorize in a programfile.
can anyone recommend a freeware programme, how to do this

You mean that you want to make a list of what you got? Use Word or Wordpad.

Cause "the CDs on my computer" sounds very strange, unless you seriously have put all your physical cds on your computer, in a pile.

Or what do u mean?

so i can search where i have them put in my room (in several bookshelves)

Don't use a flat document such as text or excel, it is very inflexible, and not made for these tasks. Best way to do this is to use a relational database, and tie that to a webpage, using sql/php. I'm sure there are already solutions for this, just search for 'cd catalogue sql php' or something like that. I don't use it, so cannot recommend any.
