Geeee, hurrrrgghhhhh. I can't make up my MIND. Uhhhhhhh. Which one is they? Rolling or Stones? I went through the door and was stunned at the sound of the din of the stairwell. So I sat down and

BWONG

I couldn't figure out which one it was. What a breathtaking dilemma. What should I do?

well, seemingly in English-spoken world it is "The Stones". but in some other languages they are referred many times with "Rolling", for example, in Spain they are "Los Rolling", here in Finland they are "Rollarit"...spinning smiley sticking its tongue out

I was forced to watch those awful movies when I was a bit younger, at least one of them. Never knew there was a third one. How horrible. And to think there is now a goddamn stupid motherfucking restaurant chain in the States with that horrible fake Australian accent and horrendous commercials that probably the upper class Wal-Martians go to and think they're really dining out.

Fantastic.

I found this store close to Dam Square when I was in A'dam last month.

There's a sign in the window that says the absinthe is legal to bring back to the States, and I know real absinthe is not legal in the U.S.

No, I didn't buy any "absinthe."
My non-taxable alcohol limit was reached before I left France!

Where is it in New Orleans that is now selling Absinthe, Edith? I thought some place in the FQ recently started to.

I think Tony Seville's on Pirates Alley advertises that they sell "absinthe," but I'm pretty sure the real stuff is still illegal in the U.S.

Interesting, but lengthy article here: [www.wired.com]

Yeah, a few years ago they changed the laws so that you can buy absinthe in the US now, but from what I understand it is not nearly as strong as the legendary stuff of yore.

I drank 3 or 4 glasses of it one night, and it is a different kind of buzz. A friend of mine claims he hallucinated a little after drinking nearly an entire bottle one night.

An entire bottle of anything would make me hallucinate, or worse.

Here's the U.S. law concerning the importation of absinthe, courtesy of U.S. Customs and Border Patrol:

Absinthe (Alcohol)
The importation of absinthe is subject to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration regulations (21 C.F.R. 172.510 and the Department of the Treasury’s Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau regulations (27 C.F.R. Parts 13.51, 5.42(a), and 5.65. The absinthe content must be “thujone free” (that is, it must contain less than 100 parts per million of thujone); the term “absinthe” cannot be the brand name; the term “absinthe” cannot stand alone on the label; and the artwork and/or graphics cannot project images of hallucinogenic, psychotropic or mind-altering effects. Absinthe imported in violation of these regulations is subject to seizure.
